
Daria Pietryka (ur. 1983) / Visual artist, architect and scenographer based in Wrocław, Poland. She is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, Faculty of Interior Design, the School of Architecture at University College Dublin and the Wrocław University of Science & Technology, Faculty of Architecture. She operates on the perimeter of visual arts and architecture. She observes relations between ecosystem created by humans and things that are uncontrollable, wild, and out of human impact. Through her works she also studies human relations in micro and macro scale, as well as how through the times a role of women in a tissue of society changes gradually. Since 2014 she has been running her own studio MIEJSCA (Places). She also works as an exhibition set designer and has cooperated with Wrocław European Capital of Culture 2016, OP_ENHEIM and Studio BWA in the city of Wrocław. Her individual exhibitions have been shown inter alia at Gallery M, the Agora Culture Centre, at the Platon Gallery in Wrocław and at The Mill Theatre in Dublin. She has also taken part in numerous group shows, including Test Gallery in Warsaw, BWA in Wrocław, D-light Studios in Dublin and The Waterfront Hall in Belfast. Her paintings can be found in collections in Poland, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, USA or India. |
